8 autumn 2023 fashion trends to start shopping now
We’ve curated the top trends to invest in for the new season.

Off-Duty Model
The kickoff to this trend may have very well been when Kate Moss, Christy Turlington Burns, Amber Valetta, Shalom Harlow, and Linda Evangelista reunited during New York Fashion Week at the Fendi show. That ‘90s off-duty supermodel look that these iconic models made popular is poised to take off this season. The starter kit includes a classic white tank, fitted denim in a light wash, and a black leather blazer.

Craft Core
You’ll see a lot of homespun and handcrafted elements like embroidery, applique, and crochet this season. These details were prominent on the runways, and the trend is further strengthened by Gen Z TikTokers who are buzzing about DIY fashion and upcycling.

Early 2000s
This season, fashion will be revisiting the early aughts. Low rise jeans, crop tops, mini skirts, trucker hats, and velour sweatsuits are making a comeback. So if you’re ready to channel Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie from “The Simple Life” era, this trend is for you.

Oversized Suiting
Oversized suiting will be everywhere this season, with brands like Balenciaga, Khaite, and more featuring styles within their collections. In particular, the oversized blazer will be a must-have item, and styles are available in both neutral hues and bold brights. Pair your blazer with a wide-leg trouser for a chic head-to-toe oversized look.

‘80s Party
We’re going back to the ‘80s this season. Bubble hem dresses, shoulder pads, oversized blazers, and bold patterns made a statement on the runways. Designers brought a fresh spin to key fashion styles that dominated the decade.

Tied Up
When it comes to details, it was all about lace-up ties this season. The design detail was spotted on the runway at Altuzarra, Chloé, Monse, and more. Whether they were tied up or hanging loose, ties were featured in a number of ways on shirts, skirts, pants, and dresses.

Daytime Lingerie
This trend is all about lingerie-inspired pieces—think: bustier tops, camisoles, slip dresses, and skirts—that are meant to be worn outside of the bedroom. You’ll see lots of lace-trimming this season and delicate details. You can also tap into this trend with sheer styles that show off your undergarments.

Dopamine Pops
The dopamine dressing trend will continue to go strong for autumn, but this season we’re seeing the saturated shades styled in a different way. Instead of wearing them head to toe (or matched up with one another), the bold hues are being paired up with neutral hues to create a bright pop of colour.
