As part of the official uniform of the New Normal, Todd wanted a hybrid between a chore jacket and a tailored blazer. The result is The Studio Coat. The silhouette is inspired by a vintage style of workwear once worn by artists and craftspeople when they changed out of their street clothes and arrived at their ateliers. From that humble starting point, our design team added several refined details: open patch pockets, button cuffs, and a three-into-two button stance that allows the wearer to choose between wearing the lapel up like a piece of outerwear or more like a traditional two-button blazer. Adding a touch of polish to the proceedings is the elegant chambray fabric that is imported from Italy’s Sondrio mill. The fabric is a linen-cotton blend that can be worn deep into summer. The Studio Coat can hang with everything from a t-shirt to a dress shirt and tie. Because it’s chambray it also looks good with our TS Selvedge Denim.
