J.Crew Wallace & Barnes Slim fit selvedge jean in raw indigo
All of our Wallace & Barnes denim is made the way you'd hope, using only the finest fabrics in the world and constructed here in the USA. The selvedge denim for these jeans is woven on old-fashioned machines by the Nihon Menpu mill in Japan which, when it comes to authenticity, is as good as it gets. For those who don't know, raw denim (also called "rigid" or "dry" denim) is unwashed, so it feels stiffer at first and then fades and distresses according to the individual wearer. Cotton. Button fly. Traditional 5-pocket styling. Machine wash. Made in the USA. Item F4082.

J.Crew 484 Slim-fit stretch jean in washed selvedge
Cut in our slimmest fit, these jeans are crafted in a selvedge denim that comes with a bit of stretch. Selvedge is a nod to the early 19th century, when fabric was woven on narrow looms and the edges were sewn together to create a "self edge" that helped prevent fraying (a colored thread was often incorporated to help the mill tell fabrics apart). Cotton/poly. Button fly. Traditional 5-pocket styling. Machine wash.
