Staub products are made in France. They have a professional quality enameled cast iron. The flat lid with self-basting spikes allows liquid to drop back a nine times higher amount back onto the central are of the food. The design and weight of the lid minimizes evaporation, preving hardly any steam from escaping. The black matte interior is rough which gives an extended surface and allows fat to sit under the food while searing. Combined with the black color it will result in exceptional browning and a better release.
