He was found and ‘adopted’ by the British Brown family who constantly keep him out of mischief and trouble. Paddington was originally published in 1958 based on a lone teddy bear found in a charity shop by Michael Bond. His first book was called 'A Bear Called Paddington', since then he's gone to star in television shows and been immortalised as a stuffed toy.
