Barcelona native Joan Gaspar began his career as a lighting designer, but it wasn’t long before he was also working on furniture, interiors and even faucet systems. In 2002, the book Spoon – an overview of contemporary design published by Phaidon Press – listed him as one of the best new industrial designers, and for the last decade he has lectured at the Eina School of Design and Art in Barcelona. Always looking for traditional items that can be improved, Gaspar was inspired by the school’s industrial steel chairs, which led to the colorful, fun Lisboa (2009). Lightweight, UV-protected and stackable up to 10 high, this chair serves well indoors and out. BIFMA approved and suitable for commercial use. Made in Spain.
